Klub Żak starts an OPEN CALL for the 14th edition of Solo Dance Contest, an international competition that every year gathers dancers and choreographers from all over the world. 

  
The competition will take place during the 17th Gdańsk Dance Festival on September 22–25, 2025\. The competition is addressed to all professional dancers from Poland and abroad who are over 18 years of age. Deadline for sending the application is March 31, 2025 at 23:59\. We will invite selected solos to the main competition, which will be assessed by an international jury consisting of personalities from the world of contemporary dance. The total prize pool is EUR 6,000! During the competition, an audience prize of EUR 500 will be awarded, and the remaining EUR 5,500 will be distributed by the Jury between the 1st, 2nd and 3rd prizes. 

  
During this year's edition, the Polish Solo Dance Contest.pl qualifiers will also be held for the first time. To participate in the qualifying rounds, which are scheduled for April 26-27, we will select from 10 to 12 solo performances performed by people from Poland, which will be presented to the audience and a group of experts. The pre-selection jury will select at least 5 works that will qualify for the main competition.

Following the great success of the two initial calls for entries, the Lesser-Ury Art Prize will also be awarded in 2025.

  
This award for visual arts, launched in 2024, will be given to artists for individual works that are selected by a jury of the KünstlerGilde eV as part of an art prize competition with an annually changing artistic focus.

  
The namesake of the prize, the painter and graphic artist Leo Lesser Ury , born in the province of Posen in 1861 , was part of the German Impressionist movement and an important representative of the so-called Berlin Secession . While the cosmopolitan had an almost legendary enmity with Max Liebermann, Ury only flourished within the Secession with regular exhibitions when Lovis Corinth - the namesake of the Lovis Corinth Art Prize of the Artists' Guild - replaced Liebermann as president. Ury's typical pictures with coffee house and street scenes - and not infrequently with very characteristic reflections of light - are still impressive today.

The KünstlerGilde eV is exhibiting participants in the shortlist exhibition of the Lesser-Ury Prize 2025 at Küferstraße 37 in 73728 Esslingen near the Wolfstor - probably from mid-April 2025\. As soon as the participants are confirmed, they will be named here on this page.

  
The shortlisted participants selected by the jury will be informed in good time by the Artists’ Guild and asked to send in the originals for the exhibition.

  
In general, it should be mentioned in this context that the association does not have the funds for special insurance. If you estimate the value of your works to be 5,000 euros or more, we would ask you to refrain from submitting them/participating as a precautionary measure.

**Apply for the Rumpenheim Art Prize 2025!**

  
The “Rumpenheim Art Prize DIANA” has been sponsored since 2020 by the Männche family, Rumpenheim. The award-winning exhibition concept will be realized by the artist on the occasion of the 23rd “Rumpenheim Art Days” and presented in the Evangelical Castle Church from September 19th to October 3rd, 2025.

The prize is endowed with 3,000 euros and will be awarded at a ceremony to open the art days on Friday, September 19, 2025 in the Evangelical Castle Church.

The Theodor Körner Fund aims to support young academics and artists. Applications are open for scientific research projects, as well as art, literature, and composition projects that are currently underway . Funding is also available for the development of research designs that serve as the basis for competitive application procedures (FWF or at least equivalent).

  
The Theodor Körner Fund awards its prizes exclusively for " work in progress ." The submitted project must have already begun but not been completed before the end of the respective application year. Submitted projects must have been independently conceived by the applicant, be carried out independently, and be feasible within two years . For the 2025 application year, this means a completion deadline between January 1, 2026, and November 30, 2027.

  
In the academic disciplines, only research projects are eligible for awards. Communication, translation, and publication projects, etc., are therefore excluded from applications. Likewise, bachelor's and diploma/master's theses, postdoctoral research projects, and contract research are generally not eligible for funding.

The Theodor Körner Prize is endowed with €5,000 . It is awarded for outstanding projects, but represents direct support for the awardees and is at their discretion. Evidence of the use of the funds is not required. With the exception of the Foundation Prizes, the prize money is paid out in two installments: the first (€3,000) upon award of the prize, the second (€2,000) upon timely and documented completion.

Theodor Körner Preis 2025

The _Creative Exchange Residency for Craft Practitioners_ aims to foster a collaborative and open learning environment, encouraging craft practitioners to apply their unique skills and perspectives. Successful applicants will have the opportunity to engage in meaningful exchanges, contributing to the rich tapestry of European craft knowledge and practice.

  
Whether you’re based in different countries or various regions within the same country, you can take part in this knowledge exchange. The roll-out call spans until March 2025, and the residency can take place until 15 April 2025, providing an extended application window and more opportunities for craft practitioners.

  
Each selected participant will receive a stipend of 400€ to facilitate their involvement. This stipend is intended to cover basic travel expenses and contribute to accommodation costs. Additionally, applicants are encouraged to proactively seek additional financial support by applying for an EU mobility grant or other applicable grants if they anticipate further funding needs.

  
**Application categories are as follows:**

  
**Pair Exchange:** A traditional two-week knowledge exchange and residency either all 14 days in-situ or a minimum of 7 days in-situ and the rest up to the 2 weeks online.

  
Established pairs of craft practitioners are encouraged to apply together. This category also has the flexibility to choose between 14 days face-to-face or a hybrid format with 7 days in person and the rest online (equivalent to 15 hours per week). Participants in this category should apply individually and add the name of the partner in the corresponding section and visit each other in their studios. Both persons in the pair are entitled to the full stipend. If you don’t have a partner, a dedicated closed Facebook group will be provided, monitored by the ECA team, allowing you to explore potential exchange partners.

  
**Workshop Attendance:** Craft practitioners interested in attending already established workshops that last at least 7 days.

  
Participants in this category can apply and be eligible for a stipend if the established workshop has a minimum duration of 7 days in situ . For the remaining time applicants should propose a supplementary program to cover the remaining days (equivalent of 15 hours week). This could involve exploring local craftspeople and their workshops, local heritage, and unique materials in the region.

  
**Group Exchange:** Craft practitioners forming a group for a collective exchange either all 14 days in-situ or at least 7 days in-situ and the rest online.

  
Craft practitioners, 3 or up to 20, can form a group and apply together. This category also has the flexibility to choose between 14 days face-to-face or a hybrid format with at least 7 days in person and the rest up to 2 weeks online (equivalent to 15 hours per week). The group can create its own knowledge exchange in one place (e.g., one of the members of the group’s studio) based on craft discipline or the use of materials in different craft disciplines. All members of the group are individually eligible for the stipend.

The individual stipend of 400€ per participant will be disbursed once the application is approved by ECA.

Creative Exchange for Craft Practitioners

**Timeline Shift is the title of the fourth edition of Re:humanism Art Prize, which since 2018 has been dedicated to exploring the relationship between art and artificial intelligence. This edition is a reflection on time, often experienced from a Western perspective and oriented towards the future and productivity. Hence, an openness to other cultural and ritual forms is vital. An invitation to recover, in technologies as in everyday life, a synchronicity capable of reconnecting everyone's experience with the world around them, living species, even artificial entities and ourselves. Timeline Shift is an attempt to go beyond a "wrong timeline", generating the possibility to act on the world and on technological progress, similarly to a collective spell.**

  
Today, new generative models defined as large language models (LLM) allow greater accessibility of these technologies but also greater opacity. While anyone can use natural language (prompt) to obtain content with a high degree of accuracy, on the other hand these models need enormous quantities of data which also need to be classified and organized to obtain satisfactory results. The theme of the archive, already central in the artistic discourse, becomes even more so concerning these tools. Decisions about which data is preserved and which is discarded are highly dependent on human intervention, and the risk of repercussions exponentially escalates with AI.

  
In this context, the art world finds itself at the center of this algorithmic revolution: the interfaces of generative models, while making the creation of content more accessible, reduce the transparency and awareness of the processes that generate them. The debate focuses on the concept of authorship and its recognition, while concerns emerge about how artificial intelligence reproduces stereotypes or intrinsic limits of statistical calculation, rather than generating genuine creativity.

  
In response, many artists are exploring new workflows, seeking sustainable solutions that transcend the recursive nature of algorithms. Among the topics addressed, discourses on gender, decolonization, ritual and ancestral visions, intertextuality and synchronicity emerge, as well as speculative perspectives that aim to outline new cultural and social horizons.

  
This edition aims to foster reflections on how to rethink value systems now at the limit of their usefulness, inviting artists to imagine and experiment with tools that can overcome the current condition. The goal is to create visions capable of tracing trajectories towards a more inclusive, ethical and sustainable future.

The **exhibition** of the ten finalists (excluding the Romaeuropa Prize which will be presented later) will take place in the **Fondazione Pastificio Cerere in Rome in June 2025.**

  
Ten projects will be selected and divided into three 3 main categories: the MAIN PRIZE, the APA PRIZE and the ROMAEUROPA DIGITALIVE PRIZE.

Kant in Vlaanderen invites you to create work on the theme of ‘Rhythm’ and in the context of Erfgoeddag 2025\. The creations will be on display in an exhibition in the Sint-Catharina church at the Begijnhof in Diest. 

  
The theme invites you to seek inspiration in rhythm and movement, to let others experience that heritage can be lively, changing and captivating. A challenge to dare to play with the past, the present and the future.

  
‘Rhythm’ encourages you to explore, experiment and discover lace heritage in new ways. Kant in Vlaanderen wants to show the challenges and possibilities of this craft, from traditions to innovations. This edition of Erfgoeddag wants to highlight the many ways in which heritage inspires, amazes and fascinates. Rhythm also wants to acknowledge the role heritage plays in people's lives.

Participation is free for KiV members, non-members pay €30 at registration.

Call for Lacework on the theme "Rhythm"

The European Investment Bank (EIB) Institute is pleased to announce the 2025 edition of its Artists Development Programme (ADP) in partnership with Cité internationale des arts (Paris) and neimënster (Neumünster Abbey Heritage Site for Culture) (Luxembourg), for which it is looking for TWO visual artists (born after 1 January 1990) from an EU Member State to work on the theme “Disruption: The Imprint of Man.”

  
“Disruption: The Imprint of Man” aims to offer a unique vantage point on the Anthropocene. Building on the past residency theme “Anthropocene — The Imprint of Man” (2014-2017), “Disruption” broadens the focus beyond the environment to include topical social issues in the European Union: the decline of solidarity and respect as values, generational clashes, and the meaning of intra and international relations. Artists are invited to meditate on human behaviour and its consequences. “Disruption” is therefore understood not only in its physical sense, but also as a social, cultural and behavioural phenomenon.

  
The ADP offers emerging European visual artists a three-month residency, enabling them to develop their practice and create a new (body of) work(s), boosted by the mentorship of a renowned artist. In 2025, the residency will take place over three months between the Cité internationale des arts in Paris for two months (September-October), and neimënster in Luxembourg for one month (November). The laureates will be mentored by acclaimed Franco-Italian artist Tatiana Trouvé, as well as professor, theorist and art critic Christophe Kihm.

  

The EIB Institute will cover the artists’ travel costs to Paris, from Paris to Luxembourg, and from Luxembourg.

  
The artists will receive an €80 flat-rate daily allowance to cover their living costs during the residency and all or part of the production costs, and will be provided with a live-in studio space.

  
In addition to the above, the artists will be granted a contribution towards production of €500 at the beginning of the residency and a success fee of €1,000 at the end of the residency, provided that they have produced a work or body of works.

  
Upon completion of the residency, the EIB may consider acquiring an artwork produced on-site by the artists.

  

“Disruption: The Imprint of Man”

African Women in Photography and the END Fund invite proposals from African women and nonbinary photographers to explore the lived experiences of women and girls affected by neglected tropical diseases across the African continent.

Five selected photographers will each receive a commission grant of USD $10,000 provided by the END Fund. The funds will support the development, production, and final delivery of their projects. The awarded projects must be completed within three months. Photographers will also receive mentorship, resources, and support from AWP and its network of established practitioners throughout the project.

Drawing upon the joint expertise of the EIB and Metis/AFD, “Art & Development” aims to interrogate the role that artistic creation can play in anticipating, facilitating or even actively engaging societal transformations, whether psychic or operational. Artists are invited to reflect on the links and/or ruptures that exist between creative expression and the construction of a more just and sustainable world. The research carried out by the selected laureate will thus explore the position and content of their artistic creation, in relation to their role vis-à-vis sustainability issues faced by societies around the world. These could include technical progress, infrastructure construction, access of vulnerable populations to essential services (health, education, employment, energy, water, food, etc.), the preservation of ecosystems, cultural heritage, the roles and quality of institutions, justice, tolerance, the capacities of human beings to live and compose together and the renewal of narratives on the future.
