The City of Konstanz places particular emphasis on supporting and promoting independent cultural activities. The initiatives that arise from this work reflect the cultural commitment of its citizens and guarantee the vital diversity of cultural life in the city.

There are four different funding areas for the funding of independent cultural work. These are divided into:

1\. Institutional funding, for permanent funding of culturally active associations and initiatives as well as for temporary funding of studios and rehearsal spaces 

  
2\. Institutional funding for music associations and choirs

  
3\. Open project funding, for project proposals, for cultural education projects, for concept funding and for the resumption of projects

  
4\. The Culture Fund, which is intended for larger, one-off project proposals
