Shisan, an only child, is frequently left alone at home. With the regularity of power outages at the time, often attributed to unstable home voltage and occasionally affecting entire districts, he finds solace in two contrasting sources of light and connection: candles and the home telephone.

Calls and Candlelight

I filmed the whole process of making instant rice noodles from Guangxi China. With cinematography and the love song, I explore my relationship with the diaspora and globalization.

  

Way of Eating Luosifen

The unusual combination is eerily beautiful with typically modern desires, includes early TV commercials of fashion doll and wine, a scene of taking off the clothes, and hair cutting. However, the insertion of incongruous Goya's prints the disasters of war soon ensures that the seductive images take on an absurd charge.

'A Message from the Last Summer' delves into the connections between individuals and nature, capturing the essence of escapism and collective memory.
