This painting addresses human struggles with technology and modern communications. Symbolic geometry reconnects the self and the battle that stands between true identity and the person that society and convention demand. We cannot escape the static and technology interrupting our favorite song, but we can keep trying to tune into the station in spite of images projected onto our psyche.

You are What You Eat

In our post-digital culture, we no longer use the telephone to make a voice call but prefer texting and direct messaging. The connections through technology are immediate yet subject to interpretation. Double meanings emerge from missing punctuation and tone.

After Life

I created this skull as a prototype for my "After Life" painting. This is a 3D print produced by Solid Concepts in Valencia, CA, using the digital file I created in Maya 3D software. It is solid plastic SLS Nylon material and weighs close to that of a small bowling ball ~ 9 pounds, so it is quite a solid piece. I finished it with an undercoat of Montana Gold Shock Pink Light and then my favorite oil paint, Luminous Opera Pink Aqua Oil, and sealed it with varnish.

This piece is about the fractured nature of communications in a post-technological age.
