"Out Of Control"

This is the first single out of DJ Hell's new Album "House Music Box (Past Present No Future)". The concept album is not only about the beginnings of electronic DJ and club music, but also a danceable history lesson.

The first single "Out Of Control" is a mighty stomping dancefloor monster where a killer bassline and an infectious synth riff meet. A vocal sample rightly demands ‘Don’t stop! The music video is the result of the long distance collaboration between Stacie Ant and Dj Hell inspired by the iconic restaurant scene in Being John Malkovich.

Adriana Hot Couture SS21 collaboration with Stacie Ant for the Milan Fashion Week. 

Adriana Hot Couture is a project between fashion and art. Fashion has always explored everything novel, and in the last couple of years we enjoyed virtual clothes, 3D make-up and avatar fashion shows – but in all these examples those two worlds have always been clearly separate, others; on one side you have the virtual, and on the other you have reality. At Adriana Hot Couture we wanted to go further, stating how the virtual has infiltrated the real and merged with it: we are entering the age of the REALITY-VIRTUALITY CONTINUUM. For the SPRING SUMMER 2021 AHC teamed up with some computer artists to create a living manifesto of this new era. The aim is to question the foundation itself of our reality model, and to immerse ourselves completely in the world of representations, ultimately becoming one with it.

Stacie Ant was one of the artist that AHC teamed up with, to create some pieces for the Fashion Show.

The show was constructed as an art performance where every certainty becomes hazy: models share the space with dolls, teenagers and bodybuilders, videos bought on fiverr from different corners of the world introduce you to the collection, and thanks to a new immersive technology you’ll see the accessories, make up and looks come alive.

THE REALITY-VIRTUALITY CONTINUUM

Helsinki Fashion Week’s first purely digital and sustainable showcase via the Digital Village platform is an exploration of cyberspace as an alternative to a physical event. 

As one of the international sustainable artists selected to take part in the HFW Designer Residency Programme of July 2020 –which launched the Helsinki Fashion Week from July 27 to the 1st of August 2020– Stacie Ant had the pleasure to collaborate with the IRL designer Patrick McDowell. Patrick McDowell is a London based designer captivating the fashion industry with sustainability at the core of his practice. He strives to reinvent luxury through a sustainable mindset. The combination of the analogue fashion skills of Patrick McDowell and the digital fashion skills of Stacie Ant resulted in a look titled Live Laugh Lord.

In addition to her collaboration with Patrick McDowell, Stacie also worked on her own outfit. She created a gown inspired by oil spills to raise awareness of man made disasters affecting our ecosystem. The outfit she titled Oil Queen was presented in the Digital Village x Stacie Ant show. It’s a glamorous, dark and over the top iridescent gown worn by a glamorous villain that explores the beauty in tragedy.

The music video is a cosmic quest from a Jetsons-inspired suburbia, to a sci-fi alien city nightclub. Stacie Ant drew inspiration from mid-century retro futurism, as well as cinematic cyberpunk culture to create the world present in this music video.

The video was heavily inspired by old school post apocalyptic films, particularly Mad Max and Tank Girl. The goal was to capture a video game-like experience, with attacking mutated monsters and a girl squad driving around the anarchist desert.

AK Sports - Music Video 

MW Magazine is a collectable biannual fashion and culture print publication which boasts a different theme and format with each issue. It’s a new fashion magazine dedicated to introducing and showcasing the inspiring work of designers from all around the world.

The brief for this collaboration was to showcase four outfits by Belgian designer, Walter Van Beirendonck. Walter’s designs are inspired by art, music and literature, all mixed with ethnic and nature influences. His designs are very recognisable by either strong graphics or innovating cuts and unexpected colour combinations.

Adam AF had the task to recreate the clothing from Walter Van Beirendonck as 3D garments. Once the 3D clothes were done he shared them with Stacie Ant. Stacie created the models with their styling, makeup, poses and textures. She also constructed the backgrounds and lights to create to overall look of the pictures.

UTOPIA Jacket collaboration with Contemporary Attitude
UTOPIA is a garment that explores the themes between internet art vs the tangibility of an online experience.

The garment integrates synthetic materials, geometrical patterns and pays homage to the visual style of the Technophilia culture of the early 90’s. With the creation of this one of a kind Utopia Garment, Stacie Ant celebrates the availability of new digital tools that allow one to design physical garments that until recently was only realized through a digital screen.

Celebrity Worship Trilogy explores the evolution of our collective unconscious in a day where the celebrity is put on a pedestal through the use of easy- access technology that distances us from ourselves.  Blurring the lines between rebellion and embracement, Celebrity Worship utilizes moments of personal struggle to create an identity in a world of new digital realms by placing celebrities as mirrors to our own dream selves. The first episode portrays the artist as an embodiment of Paris Hilton (on the left) and Kim K (On the right). With the use of After Effects, Photoshop, facial prosthetics and face swap technology, the artist embodies the modern dream that such two celebrities represent- to be famous for being famous. The second and third video of the trilogy recreate tabloid covers, depicting the private relationships of Hollywood stars. Playing several characters on the cover, Ant mocks curated Hollywood relationships that influence the way the consumer curates their public life online.  

Celebrity Worship

Using After Effects, Photoshop, 3DS Max and Microsoft Word, Meat & Bone explores a personal struggle of losing oneself while browsing online. The inspiration for this work is an attempt to expose the deceptive sensation of transcendence in an era of internet fixation. 
The colorful, attractive imagery dissolves to reveal the skeleton- exposing the dreamy landscapes as artificial and illusive. The imagery juxtaposes internet inspired environments with warped organic matter while constantly reminding the viewer of their own carnal existence.  The found footage used in the animation is symbolic of the misinformation and unwanted imagery one must sort through on their journey of seeking enlightenment via modern technology.  


Meat & Bone

A man; an island is an installation that incorporates her 3D animation with composited imagery to create a physical environment for her dreamy yet grotesque worlds. The use of transparent materials as screens, such as mesh fiberglass and cellophane, give the objects a holographic appearance. The materials of choice, combined with the use of mirror tiles not only bring the video into a physical space beyond a screen but also play with the viewer’s perception of an enclosed landscape. The piece is meant to remind us of the way our reliance on net based-imagery creates an illusion of a concrete world, effecting our approach and expectations of the actual reality. The installation is a simulation of a retro-futuristic approach to being in “the net” . The piece also pays an homage to the Light and Space movement of the mid 20th century in its use of color and optical illusions.

A collaboration with Kevin Holliday. This video installation recreates Orthodox Christian holy imagery. The audience are welcome to explore the inside of the room while the images are slowly looped in their traditional roles, accompanies by the sounds of loud happy hardcore music.

Mary & Jesus

The Internet and how I googled myself into inner heaven is an IRL recreation of a cyber cathedral. Something in between an altar and a gift shop, Stacie Ant’s window display is meant to pay an homage to the spiritual side of the Internet- Psychedelic gifs, geocity web layouts and tasteful celebrity worship. The installation explores the revolutionary effect Internet has on the growth of spiritual culture through subjectivity of religion.
