2nd October, 12.00-15.00 Free Soliloquy workshop 15th October, 12.00-15.00 Rehearsal for the “Zaplatanie” performance 16th October, 17.00-18:30 Performance “Zaplatanie” Rixdorfer Höhe, Hasenheide, Berlin You are warmly invited to join an interdisciplinary project “Zaplatanie”, created by artists spalarnia and Jess Zamora-Turner, filmmaker Ewelina Węgiel and choreographer Maok Monika Błaszczak. “Zaplatanie” (Polish for braiding) is a public performance that reimagines collective ritual with group dancing, hypnotic music, poetic singing and unique outdoor staging. On the 2nd October, Maok will lead a free Soliloquy session, a movement practice they’ve been developing since 2018. Soliloquy, aka Hauntological Somatics, invites the movers to meet the ghosts present in their bodies and in the environments they move with. Soliloquy is working with the (im)material through movement, becoming and making love with the world. On the 15th October the dancers are invited to join a rehearsal for “Zaplatanie”, leading to a performance on the 16th of October. The choreography will be a combination of movement discovered during the Soliloquy workshop on the 2nd October, improvisation prompts and basic steps of the Polish national dance oberek, which Maok will teach during the rehearsal on the 15th October. In order to perform in “Zaplatanie” on the 16th of October, it is necessary to attend the rehearsal on the 15th of October. Soliloquy workshop on the 2nd is optional. The events will be filmed and by participating you consent to being filmed. Each dancer will receive a fee of €50 for the performance in “Zaplatanie”.
