«galicia» award of contemporary photography

The OF Outono Fotográfico Association, the Xunta de Galicia (Galician Government), the Deputación de Lugo (Lugo City Council) and the University of Vigo/Campus of Ourense (Galicia) are organising the «GALICIA» AWARD OF CONTEMPORARY PHOTOGRAPHY / XIV PREMIO «GALICIA» DE FOTOGRAFÍA CONTEMPORÁNEA, to promote the contemporary photography and the ethical aspects that generally rise from the contemporary art in relation to the forms of domination and the imposition of limits of thought.To promote the creation of a photographic space in Galicia that complements the one created for more than three decades by the Festival Otoño Fotográfico through the incentive of proposals of visual-photographic character or of those others that fit in the scope of the “Photographic”, in the widest sense of the term, on the part of both national and foreign authors.

Any author who works with photography, regardless of their nationality, will be able to take part, bearing in mind that the jury’s verdict will be particularly influenced by its inclusion in the discourse of contemporary photography.
