2023 snowed-in residencies

In 2023, we’re offering four week-long solo residencies to four artists in a range of disciplines. These residencies include accommodations at The Garret on the Green, studio space at the Kirkland Art Center, and an unrestricted $500 stipend to subsidize food and travel. Applications are open from October 1st - November 13th, 2022.

A Snowed-In Residency is a week of unrestricted solo time and space granted to an artist who needs it for their work. Unlike some residencies that focus on cohorts and collaboration, these were designed for artists who may struggle to carve out space and time for creative work in their everyday lives— due to bill-paying jobs, caregiving responsibilities, and other restrictions that preclude longer residencies at other institutions.
