The promotion of the diverse and high-quality art in and from North Rhine-Westphalia is a hallmark of the Visual Arts division of the NRW Arts Foundation. Our focus is on the conception and realization of new ideas as well as sustainable formats.

By awarding scholarships and residencies, we strengthen independent and sustainable working methods as well as the regional and international networking of a vibrant art scene. With the support of productions, new productions, publications, exhibitions, and other projects in museums, smaller exhibition spaces, and art associations, for example, we promote those who engage with current and relevant themes in innovative and exceptional formats. In doing so, they shape the art landscape of North Rhine-Westphalia and enable its further development. Our particular focus is also on the long-term professionalization and establishment of young artists.
