april 2026: $1k open theme competition
We invite submissions for the April 2026 Open Theme Competition.
The call is intentionally unrestricted. Artists are encouraged to submit work that reflects the direction of their practice—whether through material, process, or image.
One selected artist will receive a $1,000 award. Finalists will be featured in an upcoming print issue. Artists may choose to simultaneously submit their work for additional editorial distinctions and awards within the application.

All forms considered, including painting, sculpture, photography, digital work, and experimental practices.
Submission
Please submit high-resolution images or files, accompanied by a brief artist statement (maximum 200 words) outlining the work’s conception or development. Artists may simultaneously submit their work for other editorial distinctions and awards within the application.
