odyssey festival seeking teaching & performing artists

The 15th biennial Odyssey Festival at Stevenson High School will take place Tuesday, February 13 & Wednesday, February 14, 2024 – and applications are now open!

Odyssey features over 250 professionals in dance, music, performing, visual, and media arts. These artists, educators, and arts groups inspire, entertain, and encourage students to think creatively throughout their time at Stevenson and beyond.

Please apply with proposals for:

• Workshops (50 minutes in length, designed for 30 - 50 novice high school participants. Must include one or more: 1) artistic skill building exercise 2) creative hands-on project, or 3) interactive elements that engage students viscerally in the artistic topic.
• Performances / Presentations (50 minutes in length, designed for 100 - 700 audience members. Must feature a creative practice, process, career path, or industry.)
• Atmospheric Artists (walk-about performers, musicians, living statues and live visual artists will be contracted for lunch-hours and general festival entertainment.)

Additional notes:

• This is a paid opportunity. Teaching artist rate is $75/teaching hour. Performing and presenting fees are negotiated based on venue and number of performances.
• Breakfast, lunch and speciality tea/coffee is provided to all guest artists while on campus.
• Supplies are purchased / provided by the school.
• Odyssey artists are invited to drop in to other artists’ classes / performances while on campus.
• Our campus is located in Lincolnshire, IL. Transportation is not provided. Parking is available.
