sprouts film festival: shifting horizons

Sprouts Film Festival invites young artists/recent art school graduates, whose work revolve around ecological and sustainability topic, to apply with their (pre-existing) work for the Eco EXPO that will happen during the 4th edition of the Sprouts Film Festival

Sprouts Film Festival is a yearly, interdisciplinary film festival. Sprouts wants to make the cinema a site for peaceful protest by showing newly released ecocinema and socially critical debut films. All selected features and shorts are fiction, because it is our belief that through the power of imagination we can alter our behaviour for the better and rethink our relationship with the more-than-human world. Since 2023 SFF organises an interdisciplinary exhibition during the festival, with photography, (audio visual) installations and visual/illustrative art. The theme for this years exhibition is Shifting Horizons.

SHIFTING HORIZONS

With this theme we invite the artists and the visitors of the exhibition to, through art, explore a new perspective on the boundaries between the human and the more-than-human world. This years exhibition will exist out of 3 different artists (duo’s). In line with the theme we would like to hold more space for digital art.
