pompano beach light pole enhancement sculpture

The City of Pompano Beach is looking to commission an artist or artist team for a work for hire project to design, fabricate, and install an artistic light pole sculpture to be attached to the existing light pole located at the northeast corner of N. Flagler Avenue & NE 1st Street.

THEME & REQUIREMENTS

The design should emphasize music, art innovation and be fun and surprising. Materials not allowed include plaster, masonry or concrete. The artist will ensure that the design will be code compliant. Artist is responsible to provide engineering evaluation for the proposed light pole attachment and file a permit application.

PROJECT LOCATION

The location for the project is at the northeast corner of N. Flagler Avenue & NE 1st Street. A new restaurant is planned to be installed at the building’s location. See article for more information. The restaurant will not affect the light pole. Artwork must not go on the arm of the light pole.
