Chattanooga State Community College invites proposals from artists and/or artist teams for a permanent outdoor sculpture to be installed on the campus to commemorate the College's 60th Anniversary. Artists and/or artist teams may propose up to three sculptures.
Chattanooga State Community College ("ChSCC") invites artists to submit proposals for a permanent outdoor sculpture to be installed on campus in a prominent public plaza situated just outside the Health and Science Center. The large-scale sculpture will serve as the focal point and reflect ChSCC's identity as an ever-evolving community rooted in connectivity. The sculpture must be visually striking, artistically enriching, and foster engagement and dialogue among students, staff, faculty, and the community at-large.
The sculpture should embody themes of transformation, creativity, community, and joy.

Completion Deadline: Sculpture must be completed and installed by April 17, 2026
Theme: Transformation, creativity, community, joy
Dimensions: Minimum height of 10 feet and maximum width of 15 feet
Areas of Interest: Interactive and/or engaging: visual interest in the round, singular or multiple elements, figurative or abstract design
Materials: Durable materials suitable for outdoor installation: Sustain high temperatures, humidity, heavy rainfall, wind, and freezing & require minimal upkeep
Installation: April 17, 2026
Grand Unveiling: April 22, 2026
