call for tribute mural proposals

The Des Plaines Arts Council announces an open call for proposals for an outdoor mural to be installed on the American Wildburger building, located at 1534 E Oakton St, Des Plaines, IL 60018.

Proposals should include detailed information about the artist(s), including sample images of the work to be installed, examples of previous work by the artist(s) that represent similar previously completed projects, complete details and information on all materials to be used, including all supplies and equipment, and any assistants who will be involved in the installation. Additional information may be requested as part of the evaluation process. The artist will be expected to furnish a Certificate of Insurance for the project listing the building owner as “Additional Insured.”

The space under consideration is the east facing exterior of the building located at 1534 E Oakton St, Des Plaines, IL 60018. Installation should be planned for completion by the end of October 2024.
