The Contemporary Art Biennale returns from Monday, May 12 to Saturday, July 5, 2025!

Every two years, the Cachan Contemporary Art Biennale presents works by artists who each time follow a new theme. In a desire for openness, it is rich in a particularly varied choice of artistic disciplines: painting, engraving, photography, video, installation, sculpture are all featured. From the most primitive forms to the most contemporary creations, the biennial invites you to explore the twists and turns of textile art and follow the thread of astonishing creations.

Textile art is making a comeback. It seduces as much by its freedom of expression as by its poetry and extravagance. The development of textile art, which took the form of an interlacing of fibers at its beginnings, has developed over the centuries: plurality of fabrics and textures, infinity of patterns, colors, subjects of inspiration. Dyeing, tapestry or clothing are all fields of expression for artisans and artists who reveal their creativity and skill.
