The City of Upper Arlington Parks & Recreation Department is seeking artists or artist teams to design and install a site-specific sculptural or three-dimensional artwork for the entry lobby of the Bob Crane Community Center. The selected piece will help define a gathering space within the facility, creating a welcoming environment that supports health, wellness, and community connection.
This project continues the City’s commitment to enhancing Upper Arlington’s quality of life through the arts and cultural programming. Following completion of the City’s Arts and Culture Master Plan in 2019, the Cultural Arts Division and Commission established policies and processes to guide public art projects throughout Upper Arlington. This opportunity represents one of the most significant public art projects since completion of the Master Plan.
The selected artwork will be located within the Level 1 Lobby, near the Welcome Desk, Core Cafe, Fitness Center and Indoor Play area. Artists may propose a hanging installation or sculptural display.
