dok neuland: extended reality and expanded filmmaking

Since 2015, DOK Neuland has provided an exhibition platform for Extended Reality and Expanded Filmmaking works. Each year we invite our audience to discover around 10 international pieces across different formats in a public exhibition.

Emerging technological tools offer new modes of expression and storytelling. Exhibition formats include virtual reality experiences and 360° films, augmented reality works, games and interactive installations, all with bold narratives that tap into the exciting potential that unfolds when art and technology collide. By tapping into the possibilities presented by new media, selected artists break with familiar storylines, expand the boundaries of our reality and, together with visitors, explore the interaction between humans and machines to create new realms of experience.
