Al-Tiba9 is currently accepting applications from motivated and creative candidates to join our internship program in Barcelona.

This is a unique opportunity to gain hands-on experience in both an international contemporary art gallery and a leading art magazine, working directly with our curatorial, editorial, and communications teams.

About Al-Tiba9

Al-Tiba9 specializes in contemporary art with a focus on boundary-pushing concepts, emerging and established international artists, and critical curatorial projects. The gallery and magazine are platforms for dialogue between artists, curators, and global audiences, presenting exhibitions, publications, and special events both locally and internationally.

Profile of the Ideal Candidate

• Educational background in Art History, Fine Arts, Cultural Management, Graphic design, or a related field.
• Strong interest in contemporary art and artists.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English (Spanish is a strong plus).
• Highly organized, detail-oriented, and able to work both independently and as part of a team.
• Good knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, InDesign).
• Familiarity with social media platforms (Instagram, LinkedIn, Facebook).
• Positive attitude, creativity, and adaptability.
• Previous gallery, museum, art fair, or cultural project experience is preferred but not required.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist with daily gallery operations and exhibitions.
• Support research for curatorial and editorial projects.
• Assist with press releases, interviews, and online content for the magazine.
• Contribute to social media communications and marketing.
• Assist during exhibition openings, art fairs, and events.
• Support in art handling, packing, and shipping.

Requirements

• Minimum commitment: 3 months, full-time or part-time (minimum 3 days per week).
• Based in Barcelona or within commuting distance is required.
• Availability to work on-site at the gallery.

Compensation

This is an unpaid internship. Al-Tiba9 will cover transport costs within Barcelona (bus and metro tickets). School credit can be arranged if applicable.
