public art: expressions of interests

The City of Surrey invites Expressions of Interests (EOI) from professional artists to create a free-standing artwork or series of artworks for a new neighbourhood park in the Newton area of Surrey.

Currently labelled as 72V Park, this future green space is located at 142 St and 58A Ave and will receive a formal name through the City’s park naming process. Once completed, the park will have a multi-use sports court, a playground, a network of multi-use paths, and areas for social gathering and daily recreation.

Three pathways converge at a node in the centre of the park. From this space, park users
will have sightlines to the playground and sport court. Places to sit and gather will be
provided at this central location.

An artwork, or series of artworks, is envisioned for the northern boundary of this node. The artwork should bring an atmosphere of play, joy, and colour to the park.
