Grasse River Heritage, a small nonprofit organization located in northern New York, seeks large-scale sculptures for a temporary installation in Willow Island Sculpture Garden, an outdoor art gallery along the Grasse River in Canton, NY. The organization’s volunteer sculpture garden committee is looking for high quality sculptures to borrow and display outdoors for a period of approximately two years starting in the summer of 2026.
The organization encourages works of art with themes and/or materials that reflect life in the North Country or that are likely to interest North Country residents. Sculptures by multiple artists will be selected and exhibited together in this public sculpture garden.
The Site:
Willow Island Sculpture Garden is located in a grassy area on Willow Island in the Grasse River and along Route 11 (Main Street), a busy road that runs through Canton, NY. The scenic location is just under an acre. The sculpture garden is situated between Main Street and a parking lot on the island. The garden is accessible by car or from the sidewalk along the road. A parking lot is located in close proximity to the sculpture garden for convenient parking.
