fumetto-tandem 2027: visual storytelling here and there

Fumetto Comic Festival and Neubad Luzern, in cooperation with Pro Helvetia, bring together two comic creators from Switzerland and abroad for a comic residency: One Swiss and one international comic artist will be invited to the “Fumetto-Tandem”, a three-month collaborative residency. For the 2027 edition, this residency will be held in cooperation with Pro Helvetia Shanghai and Post Wave Comics (Beijing).

The aim is to promote the exchange between Swiss and Chinese comic creators and to create a space for exploring the possibilities of collective work in the specific medium of comics. At the same time, it opens a window between the Swiss and the Chinese comic scene, benefiting both sides.

The residency is divided into two parts: The first part will take place in November/December 2026 in Beijing, where the two artists start their journey together with the support of Post Wave Comics. The second part will take place in early 2027 over 1,5 month, from mid-February to March 2027, in Lucerne, with accommodation provided in an apartment at Neubad. Participation in Fumetto will be included as part of the residency.
