B-MURALS opens its studio to host 6 to 8 artists during 2027, distributed across 4 periods of 2 or 3 months, to develop an artistic project.
Objectives of the B-Murals Residencies:
To provide support for artistic creation, exploration, and research by urban artists and others who engage with public space.
To foster connections and create bridges between international artists and the Catalan artistic community.
To create a suitable space for the production of studio work and promote an exhibition context linked to public interventions in the city of Barcelona.
The artist undertakes to
Develop the project with which they were selected. If changes occur during the residency, these must be properly explained to the organization.
Carry out a public and free presentation at the end of the residency. This could take the form of a talk, installation, exhibition, showing, etc. B-MURALS will collaborate in the organization and communication. Production costs are borne by the artist.
Acknowledge the support of B-MURALS in any public communications that may arise from the execution of the project (press, social media, or other formats).
If the work is exhibited in other venues, include the label “made during the B-Murals residency” for one year following the end of the residency.
Acknowledge the support of RESIDENCIA ONIX (sponsor of B-Murals Residencies) in at least 3 of all public communications that may derive from the execution of the project (social media or other formats).
Donate one work produced during the residency to the B-MURALS art collection, chosen by mutual agreement between the artist and B-MURALS.
Create a mural or an activity for the residents of Residencia Onix or Unite Hostel, to be determined with the organization.
Be responsible for their own production, materials, meals, and travel (borne by the artist).
