In the summer of 2027, the Hasselblad Foundation will, for the second time, inaugurate Sweden’s largest photo salon – Fotosalongen 2027.
We invite both amateur and professional photographers across all genres to submit their work through an open call, running from 1 August to 18 October 2026. The selection process will be conducted by a distinguished jury comprising Alexandra Ellis, curator at the Sune Jonsson Center for Documentary Photography, Västerbottens museum; Tarik Saleh, film director; Elisabeth Toll, photographer; and Dragana Vujanovic Östlind, Jury Chair and Chief Curator at the Hasselblad Foundation.
Our objective is to curate an exhibition that showcases a diverse array of photographic styles and perspectives. The walls of the Hasselblad Center will be adorned with works that offer unexpected encounters and surprises, where the creations of established artists will be displayed alongside those of emerging talents and seasoned photographers who have yet to present their work publicly.
This photo salon seeks to represent the full spectrum of contemporary photography, embracing practitioners whose interests span documentary and photojournalism, as well as nature, family, street style, science, politics, and the arts. Selection will not be confined to a specific theme; rather, it will focus on identifying compelling images and narratives that resonate with depth and diversity of expression. Our goal is to capture a comprehensive snapshot of current photographic practices.
