Overview

The Department of Art and Culture in the Pankow District Office of Berlin awards grants to promote artistic projects realized in the Pankow district in accordance with the Berlin State Budget Code (LHO) and the implementing regulations of Section 44 LHO.

The aim of the funding is to support projects of high artistic quality that contribute to the diversity and vibrancy of the district's cultural life. This includes considering marginalized perspectives and culturally underserved districts, as well as supporting young artists, experimental artistic positions, and the already established independent scene, which contributes to stabilizing the district's cultural infrastructure.

Funding is available for temporary individual projects from all artistic disciplines, as well as those with an interdisciplinary character, such as exhibitions, concerts, festivals, performances, or productions and performances in the field of performing arts.

The projects must be appropriately promoted and presented in a publicly accessible manner at one or more locations in the Pankow district. Educational programs, documentation, or publications related to the artistic presentation may be part of the project.

The funding is intended to support particularly compelling art and cultural projects that could not be realized without the district's funding, as other resources are unavailable or insufficient. Co-financing of larger projects and appropriate complementary funding (e.g., from state or federal programs) are possible.
