This year’s international competition for video mapping and facade projections starts in May 2026. All information about the competition buildings, timetable, and the conditions can be found here:
Until June 14, 2026, all interested artists can submit their conceptual ideas for this year’s locations as part of a competition under the theme “Democracy and Society.” Submissions may relate to different locations. A selected jury will evaluate the works. The winners will be announced on July 6, 2026. One winning entry will be selected per building.
A strong concept is characterized by historical awareness, architectural understanding, the ability to abstract and imagine, narrative talent, and a clear awareness of the specific site situation. Our team can support the technical implementation during the festival, meaning that professional knowledge of video mapping techniques is not a mandatory requirement for participation in the competition. In addition to classic video mappings, new styles and compositions are highly welcome. Possible approaches include 3D animation, elements from animation, live-action and short film, as well as illustrative techniques such as drawing, silhouette cut-outs, stop motion, etc. In previous years, we have received exciting submissions across a wide range of styles and genres.
