Overview

BRODER LAB is a support for and exchange between music + theatre makers who are looking for a push in the back with their own creation to launch their trajectory as a maker, performer or group.

In season 25-26, BRODER frames and supports three promising projects by ambitious makers, players, musicians, ... who want to roll up their sleeves for a new creation that moves beyond the classical boundaries of the music theater world. After that, you jump into the wide world on your own strength, with a solid push in the right direction.

BRODER also wants to learn something from you and you also inspire each other in the LAB project: new angles, new groundbreaking hybrid forms, new content, new voices, ... We will have an open discussion about what music + theater can be today and tomorrow.

WHAT DOES BRODER EXPECT?

  • You will rehearse for at least 1 week in the Arca Theater and in parallel you will discuss artistic choices and visions with us. There is limited availability of the hall, so you will be flexible in your planning to make that possible;
  • You perform the show at least once in the Arca Theater;
  • You actively participate in the meeting moments with the other LAB makers and the BRODER team, including the LAB days on December 2, 3 and 4, 2025;
  • You will watch at least 1 rehearsal moment of another LAB project;
  • You will watch the other LAB performances and enter into discussions with the other LAB makers and the BRODER team;
  • You become part of the BRODER family of makers, players, musicians, ... and commit yourself to this group and any meeting moments;
  • You actively promote the LAB and the other LAB makers to the outside world.
