call for projects
circusnext intends to build an ecosystem for artistic risk-taking, research and experimentation. On an annual basis, circusnext launches a call for projects to identify and support emerging circus authors throughout Europe. Its primary goal is to care for and encourage the development of new generations of creative spirits in the circus sector, who dare to experiment and question the current artistic boundaries. This open call is intended for emerging artists who are currently developing an upcoming circus creation.
There are multiple opportunities available. Seeding Labs are intended for emerging circus authors who have applied to the circusnext open call with a project which presents compelling elements according to the selection criteria but which the pre-selection committees consider not ready yet to go through the selection process.
Each edition, 4 Seeding Labs are organised. For the 2027 edition these are:
Positive Force – Room 100 (Split, Croatia) - exact dates to be confirmed
Sarabanda (Genoa, Italy) - exact dates to be confirmed
circusnext at l’Espace Périphérique (Paris, France) from 27 October to 5 November 2026
Cirko (Helsinki, Finland), from 22–31 January 2027
