2024 project funding program

The UNESCO Creative City of Media Arts Karlsruhe is opening its doors to artists and media professionals from all over the world for the first time! The 2024 Project Funding Program is starting with great anticipation and invites you to explore and expand the boundaries of media art together. This initiative is aimed at creatives who deal with current social and cultural issues and make use of the potential of media art. International exchange, co-operation and interdisciplinarity are the focus of this call for proposals.

We are particularly excited that international applicants are also being accepted for the first time! Artists, cultural and media professionals from all over the world are invited to apply. This is a unique opportunity to become part of a global network of media artists and to celebrate the diversity of cultural expression.

The aim is to enable the realization of artistic projects, which by means of the media arts provide an independent take on contemporary social issues and enrich the field of media art, especially for the viewer or interactor in the city. Eligible are all artistic expressions that are created, presented or utilized with the help of technological media and/or tools.
