vh award 5th edition

The 5th VH AWARD open call is now live! We are excited to bring you the 5th edition of the VH AWARD, Asia’s leading award for emerging media artists engaged with the context of Asia and its futures. To apply, applicants must submit a proposal to produce new audiovisual screen-based works that include, but are not limited to video art, moving image, film, motion graphics, computer animation, gaming, and more. A global jury of esteemed curators will select five artists who will each receive a grant to complete their project and an online residency with Eyebeam. The five finalists will also present their works through online and in-person exhibitions with leading global art platforms.

1. INTERVIEW PORTFOLIO FILM A video that recaps the applicant’s practice of works and ideas (< 3 min). All video files must be uploaded to Vimeo or YouTube and shared via a link. All non-English language entries must include English subtitles.

2. CURRICULUM VITAE & ARTIST STATEMENT CV and artist statement must be submitted in PDF (3 pages max., A4, font size 11).

3. NEW ARTWORK PROPOSAL Artworks must meet all the requirements listed above. Artworks must be presentable on various forms of screens for post-exhibition. Artworks must be a new creation and must have never been submitted to any other competition/award or presented in any other format, exhibition, or event. All proposals must be submitted in PDF (3 pages max., A4, font size 11) and include a Vimeo or YouTube link of the reference video file (< 1 min).

Submission must be completed online. All entries must be submitted in English and will be reviewed in order of submission.
