Burnt Sienna Berlin is offering a one-month artist residency for painters and visual artists seeking dedicated time, space and community in Berlin.
The residency is designed for artists who want to concentrate seriously on developing their practice while becoming part of the wider Burnt Sienna artistic community. Residents are given dedicated studio space and the freedom to structure the month around their own work, research and experimentation.
Burnt Sienna is an independent painting school, studio and exhibition space with a strong emphasis on observational practice, material knowledge, artistic development and exchange. Throughout the residency, artists can connect with our tutors, visiting artists, students and practising artists, attend studio events and exhibitions, and participate in the conversations and critical exchange that form an important part of life at Burnt Sienna.
The programme is intentionally small and personal. We are particularly interested in artists who will actively engage with the studio environment and who see the residency as an opportunity to push their work forward rather than simply as temporary workspace.
Applicants may be emerging, established or returning to their practice. There is no requirement to produce a finished body of work during the month; the emphasis is on process, experimentation, sustained studio time and meaningful artistic development.
We welcome applications from artists based in Germany and internationally.
