clark centre for the arts: artist residency

The Artist Residency Program welcomes professional artists to think, experiment, work and create in an artistic lakeside yet urban environment, culminating in a one month exhibition of the artist-in-resident's work in Gallery 191. 

There are two artist-in-residence opportunities:  

• Two residencies will be offered to professional artists during regular operating hours, from mid January to mid December, each to exhibit in Gallery 191 for one month.

Artist responsibilities:

• Recipient is responsible for all costs in excess of the honorarium;

• Recipient must work in the studio a minimum of 14 hours per week, and a maximum of 21 hours, during operating hours;

• Recipient to participate in Doors Open Toronto and the Guild Alive with Culture Art Festival by providing tours of residency space to the public;

• Recipient is responsible for gallery install and take-down; and,

• Recipient must actively participate in the promotion of the program, the site, and the opening reception through their own networks and effort.
