The Eureka Springs School of the arts is looking for practicing ceramics artists who are seeking focused time to refine their skills, create work and/or explore new avenues within their medium.
The 2026 Spring/Summer Ceramics Residency will span approximately 7 weeks beginning on May 30th, 2026, through July 18th, 2026, with a closing reception on Saturday, July 18th, 2026.
Up to two participants will be selected.
The artist(s) selected for this residency will be expected to:
Be a part of the ESSA campus during their stay by engaging with staff, instructors, students, and other visitors to campus.
Attend a mandatory studio orientation on May 30th in the afternoon with ESSA Staff.
Donate one piece of work (or more if desired) for ESSA to use for fundraising purposes.
Commit to a ½ day workshop to meet and share and/or demonstrate their craft/techniques and engage with the ESSA art community. Dates to be determined.
Commit to one additional community outreach activity, to be designed in conjunction with ESSA staff.
Participate in our Studio Stroll on June 27th, 2026 to demonstrate and speak about your craft.
During closing reception, provide a 15-minute artist talk with images or examples of work to discuss their process and approach, influences, take-aways from the residency, reasons for applying for the residency, etc., with a Q&A session to follow.
