call for proposals to curate the national pavilion uae 2027

The National Pavilion UAE is issuing a call for curatorial/ concept proposals to represent the UAE at the 20th International Architecture Exhibition (Venice Biennale 2027). Applicants are invited to submit strong, well‑researched and conceptually clear proposals that reveal “untold stories” from UAE’s architectural discourse, situating them in regional and global contexts. The exhibition will run from May to November 2027. There are multiple phases in the selection process (initial concept, then detailed proposal, then finalist presentations). The call encourages collaborative, interdisciplinary teams.

Selection will be in three phases.

• Phase 1: Concept Proposal submissions to be received by midnight UAE time on September 30, 2025.
• Phase 2: Up to 10 proposals will be selected, and individuals or teams will be invited to work up a fully developed exhibition proposal. Final detailed proposals need to be received in November 2025.
• Phase 3: Up to 3 finalists will be invited to present their ideas to the selection committee who will then nominate one proposal to represent the UAE in 2027 at the 20th International Architecture Exhibition, La Biennale di Venezia.
