Ping-Pong: 2026 Artist Residency in Berlin
Can art bend the future?
We’re excited to open applications for the 2026 Ping-Pong Residency in Berlin.
Ping-Pong Between Art and Knowledge invites applications from artists, writers, thinkers, and cultural workers whose practices explore how art can shape the way we imagine what is to come. We ask whether art has the power to change how we think about the future, to shift the ways we perceive it, and to reframe the forms of communication through which we share these visions.
The residency offers a dedicated space in the center of Berlin for concentrated exploration, reflection, and dialogue across art, philosophy, and science. It is a place to slow down, to test ideas, and to open questions that are not easily answered. We are particularly interested in projects that look closely at the role of technology, not simply as a practical tool, but as a force that merges with artistic thinking and imagination. In this light, we welcome work that engages with technology as both a material and a cultural condition: one that can generate new ways of sensing, knowing, and speculating about possible futures.
Rather than seeking finished works or definitive answers, we value processes that remain open, exploratory, and experimental. We encourage projects that challenge familiar perspectives, unsettle assumptions, and expand our collective vocabulary for thinking and talking about what lies ahead. The residency is not about predicting the future, it is about creating new ways to approach it, to imagine it, and perhaps even to bend it.
As a resident, you’ll have:
Since 2018, Ping-Pong has hosted internationally recognised artists and emerging voices alike, always with an eye toward projects that connect art, technology, and society in unexpected ways.
We look forward to welcoming the next group of residents into this growing network of curious, inventive people who believe art can help shape a liveable future.
