artist and author residencies program

Est-Nord-Est (ENE) invites artists and authors from Québec, Canada, and around the world to apply for its eight-week residency program. ENE is dedicated to fostering creative exploration and research in the broad field of visual arts, offering participants the time and space to experiment freely without the pressure of final exhibition or dissemination. The program takes place in the serene, rural setting of St-Jean-Port-Joli, by the river, providing an inspiring environment for innovative work.

Each residency cycle hosts four artists and one author, selected to encourage dialogue and complementary practices that align with the experimental and exploratory ethos of the program. Residents are provided with honorariums, accommodation, technical and logistical support, and access to the center’s rich documentary resources.

This residency offers a unique opportunity for artists and authors to engage deeply in creative exploration within an inspiring and supportive community. Previous residents have praised the program for its blend of solitude, natural beauty, and focused, personalized attention.
