The Artist in Residence (AiR) program takes place at The Factory on Willow which is a community for creators, entrepreneurs, and innovators to live, work and play. Originally a shoe factory built in the 1900s, it has since been transformed into 61 spacious studio apartments and 16 uniquely themed Airbnb studios. They have dedicated 2 of these studio apartments to the Artist-in-Residence program which is the home of two artists that are selected for each season of the year.
The AiR program is an opportunity for emerging artists of any medium to dive more deeply into their current projects, themes, and practices, as well as to benefit from inspiration from the Factory community, the city of Manchester, and New Hampshire as a whole. The selected artists enjoy their very own furnished live and work space, as well as a supply stipend and all the fun amenities the Factory has to offer. Through this experience, artists will interact with fellow creators, entrepreneurs, and innovators at the factory and through events one being a collaboration with dancers within the final art exhibit of the residency.
This is a 3-month program, which gives our artists valuable time to work on artwork that is eventually displayed to the community through various events. It is a one-of-a-kind experience that comes with incredible networking opporutines and unforgettable memories.
