Villa Filanda Antonini -VFA- launches the Spring Open Call to select 1-2 professionals, designers, or artists for a two-month residency. The Open Call aims to collect proposals and art projects relevant to the theme “Nourish,” focusing on art practices to feed, to care for the environment and people. In fact, the term “Nourish” derives from the Latin verb “nūtrīre,” meaning “to feed” or “to care for.”
The goal of the residency is to foster togetherness through a participative workshop and an interactive art installation/project that actively engages the local community. The mission is to create “food for thought” through artistic practices that share knowledge, critical awareness, and inspire tangible actions to care for the people and the environment.
The residency begins on January 31, 2025, and ends on March 31, 2025. Each participant must spend at least 43 days, 70% of their time, at Villa Filanda Antonini. The residency project duration does not include travel time. Participants can arrive 15 days before the start and depart 15 days after the end of the residency, in agreement with VFA. Their hosting and daily costs during this additional time are not covered by the grant, and VFA does not have to provide accommodation for this time.
