The prize, established in memory of the painter Albert Haueisen (1872-1954), serves to promote the fine arts. Its aim is not only to further revitalize the rich artistic tradition of this district in the Southern Palatinate, but above all to build a bridge beyond the immediate borders of the region to the artistic output of the neighboring regions of Baden and Alsace.
