The Biennale des Imaginaires Numériques – founded in 2018 and organized by CHRONIQUES – is the pinnacle of digital art and culture in the southern region of France. The biennale explores visual art, sound art and live performance, focuses on the presence and use of digital and new technologies in art, invests in public space and gives a voice to national and international artists from diverse backgrounds. In 2022, Belgium was invited as guest of honor for the third edition of Chroniques – Biennale of Digital Imaginaries and more than 20 artists from Flanders, Brussels and Wallonia were exhibited in Marseille, Aix-en-Provence and Avignon.
In order to maintain the momentum created and strengthen cooperation, we want to continue to pay attention to the presence of Flemish professionals at Chroniques in 2024. Flanders Arts Institute, the Department of Culture, Youth and Media and the Diplomatic Representation of Flanders in Paris are therefore inviting 10 media artists and professionals from Flanders to participate in the opening and professional meetings of Chroniques.
