Sculpture in focus: Application phase for the Dr. Marlene Trentwedel Foundation Art Prize begins!
It is one of the most prestigious and highest-endowed art prizes in Lower Saxony:
the Dr. Marlene Trentwedel Foundation Prize of Bremervörde. After the last award ceremony in 2019, the Bremervörde Art Prize, endowed with €6,000, is to be awarded for the seventh time in 2027.
The art prize will be awarded in 2027 as part of Bremervörde's 175th anniversary celebrations. The prize will focus on sculpture. Artists from across Germany are invited to submit designs for a new sculpture that explores and reflects Bremervörde's history, specifically the themes of water, the Oste River, the harbor, and Lake Vörder. The sculpture will be unveiled to the public in September 2027 during the Bremervörde anniversary festivities. Following the unveiling, the winning artist will donate the sculpture to the city of Bremervörde, where it will be installed in a public space.
