luis valtueña international humanitarian photography award

Médicos del Mundo España announces the 28th edition of the Luis Valtueña International Award, aimed at recognising and disseminating the best works of humanitarian and documentary photography, those that uniquely show social problems, injustices and/or abuses of people's rights, as well as the situations that cause or combat them.

By naming this award after the photographer and international aid worker Luis Valtueña, we pay tribute to his life and that of three other aid workers from the association who were killed in Rwanda (1997) and Bosnia (1995) while carrying out humanitarian work. The commitment and solidarity of each individual are the values ​​that constitute the essence of this competition.
