The Jeffrey Ahn, Jr. Fellowship is an annual award for young artists to produce extraordinary independent projects. In providing creative capital to young people, the Fellowship seeks to foster a positive educational and creative process that empowers them to be working artists for a summer, and to experience the freedom and the responsibility that such trust entails.
A merit-based award, the Fellowship welcomes young artists up to age 17 from any background or country to submit proposals for the independent creation of artworks. The Fellowship will provide up to $10,000 of funding for the chosen Fellow's project, including but not limited to cost of materials, relevant museum or gallery admission, and/or tuition for creative instruction. Each year, the winning Fellow is chosen by a distinguished jury of artists, curators, gallerists, and established arts professionals.
It is the Fellowship's belief that this early recognition, trust, and support will help foster lifelong independence and creativity in our Fellows, whatever path they may choose.
