The UCM Gallery of Art & Design presents 12-16 exhibitions throughout the year. The program presents a diverse range of creative approaches, mediums, and themes. The Gallery of Art & Design began in the early 1960s and has been in its currently location in the Art Center since 1982. Exhibitions at the Gallery of Art & Design originate from the gallery director, exhibition committee, art faculty, or from exhibition proposals submitted by outside curators and artists. All proposals should aim to present exhibitions that are relevant to UCM Art & Design course offerings, be aesthetically strong, and provide the community with the opportunity to explore topics of cultural, artistic, and social relevance. The curator/artist proposing the exhibition is encouraged to view gallery specifications and see the space during gallery hours in order to tailor their proposal to the space
