Where Amy Cooper a white woman knowingly falsely accused a black man Christian Cooper (no relation) of assaulting her. 

With the known police violence in the US, this false accusation could have been a death sentence for Mr. Cooper. I imagine KAREN-B-GONE as a life saving measure—in the style of mosquito spray.

The piece was ran as an Instagram Ad on the @fubufactory profile to underscore the consumerism of the “moment”

A wheatpasting campaign that ran late last year in Washington, D.C. Posters urged Black residents to apply for reparations, report gentrification, and use the FUBU hotline +1(833)937-3828 to vent. Posters were hung in rapidly gentrifying historically Black DC neighborhoods. The campaign was done in response to the Washington Post article claiming that DC had the highest intensity gentrification of any US city:

FUBU Wheatpaste Campaign 

A fantastical Super Bowl commercial (ran on Instagram) attributed to the Black legacy clothing brand FUBU. The commercial underscores the fact that the Super Bowl took place during Black History Month. It asks the viewer to realize that American Culture is irrevocably linked to Black Culture, but despite that fact Black Americans are continuously treated horribly at the hands of the Law Enforcement system. 

It signifies to Black viewers the resilience of our people in a land that “never loved us” as emphasized by the Drake in the use of his song “Worst Behavior”


FUBU Super Bowl Commercial 

A video from FUBU Factory outlining their first product, The Portable Black Hole. It takes the FUBU brand legacy and transforms it into something fantastical of the Black audience. The work was shared exclusively on instagram so that the audience could share the work within their own niche communities.
