The human brain can be related to television or AI as it continuously consumes and analyzes data daily. Memories are stored within our minds, much like the photographs in an album. Certain music can evoke specific moments or memories from our lives, while video games can elicit feelings of happiness and excitement. Many individuals contemplate existential questions of their “realness” within reality and ponder the very nature of reality itself. Some question whether we are merely robots with distinct genetic internal wiring or if we are controlled by a higher power, existing as souls within physical bodies.

  
As time progresses, old traditions and technologies fade, much like the desire for the latest iPhone model. The outdated ones are eventually forgotten and deemed “non-functional,” similar to the natural cycle of human life. There is a fear that one day, everything in our lives will be controlled by a data source and artificial intelligence, resulting in a false reality. Just as we program computers and other electronic devices for specific purposes, we, too, are assigned a purpose and a path. However, true freedom can only be attained by breaking free from this simulation.

“Memory Lane” depicts the universal childhood journey of toys, fantasy, and the fun of growing up in that environment. Looking at it takes you back to a universal time of childhood and transports the viewer back to their younger self. But the remembrance that we are all kids on the inside someway or somehow. The photograph displayed on the TV is an album cover from her favorite singer/ electronic artist, ZHU. The baby symbolizes her multicultural heritage and inspired the birth of her creative journey. This art piece is supposed to remind others of the simplicity of childhood and how fast time goes by.

Memory Lane 

In my evolving "Simulated Minds" series, the male and female forms now intertwine in a new sculpture titled _Wired_. Crafted from toys, wood, and retro TVs. This piece isn’t just about the bond between two people; it’s about how our upbringing leaves an indelible mark on how we navigate relationships—whether with friends, lovers, or even strangers. It also speaks to the influence of modern technology, which has warped our connections, sometimes blurring who we truly are beneath the endless screens.

Evidently, how we are raised sets the foundation for how we act in the world. Were you the child with the freedom to explore, feeling secure in yourself? Or were your boundaries tighter, making self-expression difficult as you grew older? These early experiences shape our capacity to communicate, connect, and react to life’s complexities.

Having experienced freedom and restraint, I could express myself creatively through dancing, acting, and art as a kid. However, regarding disagreements, I never felt fully able to voice my true feelings. During arguments, there was always an unspoken limit, which made me hesitant to fully voice my feelings. Over time, this hesitancy became internalized, making it challenging to express myself as an adult. Many of us carry this weight from childhood—not because we lack the desire to communicate, but because we’ve learned to hold back in moments when our voices matter most.

However, here’s where reflection can shift the narrative: our childhood does not have to define us. Through the right relationships and meaningful encounters, we can learn to break those patterns. The people we meet along the way—whether they stay or go—teach us something. They become mirrors, reflecting what we need to change, grow, or hold onto. The right connections show us how to embrace our vulnerabilities, giving us space to be fully understood. 

In today's world, technology has made genuine connection harder to find. With so many options at our fingertips, we’re often more disconnected than ever. _Wired_ serves as a reminder to look past the noise of modern distractions and reconnect with the essence of who we are and where we come from. Why do we react the way we do? What in our past influences our present? These questions are crucial, not just for understanding ourselves, but for building relationships that uplift and support us.

We are all the sum of our experiences—both the joy and the wounds. While our parents may not have been perfect, and while technology continues to manipulate our lives, we still have the power to reshape our story. The journey isn’t about erasing the past but understanding it, learning from it, and using it to become the best version of ourselves

Every new generation, the youth, is fueled by the idea of escaping this loop. The ability to shape their reality and make their dreams come true. "Open Your Eyes” pen and ink collection shows the constant “what if” questions humans ponder. The universe holds a plethora of unanswered questions constantly flowing through human curiosity. All of my art pieces have a meaning, whether I know it or not. I create a piece of work with a story so far ahead in time that I come to the meaning after much reflection or sometimes not at all.

“Unrecoverable wounds” represents the progression and healing of a broken heart. Over time, you realize that it will become easier to cope with hard situations- although the “bullet holes” will never fully be healed. This body of work can be looked at in many ways; everyone has hard times, low energy or vibration, or a lost connection. Agony for extended periods of time in everyone's life that has been covered up by the happy lies of our generation.

“She was colorful, but he was colorblind” portrays the intimate connection between humans and the unrealistic realistic feeling of love. The morphed faces portray two significant others forming a spiritual relationship. The meaning of “she was colorful, but he was colorblind” are broken hearts trying to be fixed. Toxic relationships, no real connection, fake love, meaningless sex, and all the negative sides to relationships that are trying to fill that empty void.
