To contextualize decontextualized spaces and to reach a wider public, the artist brings the rubble from Berlin reflected in her photographs into the exhibition spaces to bring them back into the public consciousness.

Public Memory- I

With the idea that the materials themselves engage in reflection and pose questions about the situation of the city’s speculation, the artist creates a series of key rings with the rubble of Berlin. These pieces and the placement of one of them on an overhead projector are based on the idea of the Souvenir as the consumed image of the city as a product. The value of the key rings plays an important role as it will always be linked to the price of the square meter of the site, determined by the real estate market.

This video is an approach to the deconstruction that the city goes through. The camera records the destruction of a building in Berlin, where the shrill noise and the aggressiveness of the machines create a hostile atmosphere that does not leave passers-by indifferent and makes them think about the place.


How long is now?

With the intention of promoting an analysis and reflection of the places in Berlin that have  an uncertain future, the artist uses the construction site itself and its elements such as scaffolding, passages, fences, etc. as an exhibition space, where the artist shows the photographs of the Berlin Umbau project.

By using 35mm film, the artist wants it to act as a time capsule, recording the transformation of Berlin through double exposure, where a final image is not planned but allows time to pass and record its course.
With this technique the artist wants the viewer to focus not only on the beauty of the forms but also to become aware of the uncertain future that affects the city.
