“Project Mutations” manifests the loss of identity of human beings who survive in a society which has erased their origins in a space of commercial transactions. Society faces an era of changes and resets the system by means of human global manifestations.
Beyond multiculturalism, it is essential to claim for a space to survive with dignity and to recover the individual essence of human beings.
We must go back to our origins in order to be our parents´ inheritance and our siblings ´ hope within this world, which gave us the opportunity to flourish. We owe our existence to the world.
To cut a long story short, this is the essence of “Project Mutations”.

These photographs were taken one summer in New Jersey.
Houses with closed doors, a limit, a threshold that we would like to cross.
To provoke the exchange, the meeting, to dare the other. We are constantly
reducing distances, but our physical links tend to become rarer, moving us
away from an essential need made of reality. Today faced with isolation,
forced into confinement, I think back to this threshold, impatient to set foot
there, impatient to cross it to meet again, to find itself again.

Treshold

Waldweg im Herbst is a light installation inspired by the beauty of the German landscape. Especially in autumn, when all the colors of the leaves and the natural light change. The installation consists of 3 transparent acrylic glass boxes which are collaged with leaves and branches collected in the countryside. In particular, in the German forests. At the top of each box there’s a main branch with leaves which are attached to a motor controlled by the Arduino and produces a gentle movement. The LEDs change slowly their colour into the range of autumn colours. The light is projected through the leaves and the different colour of light and the vicinity of the boxes will create a multiple shadow effect. 

Waldweg im Herbst

Arabesque was created in 2016 for the XX1 international exhibition curated by the Triennale di Milano. It is a mixture of old and new. Traditional and innovative. Bringing forgotten art to life in the second decade of the 21st century with the help of code, electronics and light technology. The concept of this work is to create a repeating tile that when put together with other tiles of the same pattern creates a large “tapestry” which changes together every few seconds. The patterns were designed so that when combined with other tiles, they will create new and different patterns. The inspiration for the patterns come from Islamic art and architecture, found in the Middle East and north Africa as well as some parts of Spain and Italy.  

Each tile is made of plywood which is CNC machined to create the pattern’s grooves in which the light is incorporated. The light is programmed and controlled by an Arduino micro controller.   

Arabesque

Is a dynamic object which explores my early fascination with mirroring lights and geometry. It is equipped with a movement sensor which stops the endless movement when someone approaches the object. The colors and geometry were chosen in order to create a never-ending cut reminiscing of a precious stone. It is made with acrylic glass, mirror tape, LEDs and motors and is controlled by an Arduino. 

Ismargad

Triangolini is a collaborative and interactive art project, where people can express their creativity and continue, change and complete each other’s work.  Commissioned by the Amsterdam light festival 2014-2015, Triangolini, is a combination between childhood games and street art. In this artwork, spectators are encouraged to participate and intervene in the artwork, in order to complete it.  The light installation is designed as a large toy, in which people move around the triangles on top of a large illuminated surface to create new patterns. The construction is made with six light boxes that measure 1.2x0.96 m each and are attached to each other to create a long, illuminated surface. On top of this surface are applied four layers of pre-cut stickers in the shape of equilateral triangles.   

Triangolini

Is a generative platform based on the idea that an algorithm which uses data from a weather sensor located close by can generate different patterns based on the reading from that sensor. It is a poetic way to read data in a way that is both aesthetic and thought provoking. Do we really need to know the exact temperature, humidity or atmospheric pressure? Or could we interpret patterns in a way which is not as precise but transmits more of a feeling.  The installation is based on 4 Raspberry pi connected to one another via WIFI and receiving data from weather sensors connected to an Arduino. The algorithm is written in processing and the sketch is displayed on a LED Matrix. 

Meteo Generative

Some people find comfort in a horoscope, others in talking to a psychic. I find that the comfort that comes to people sometimes from motivational quotes has a lot in common with the previous two phenomena I’ve mentioned. Both are vague and can be interpreted to accommodate different situations. In this installation I try to capture this phenomenon. 

In this voice activated interactive and even immersive experience, a quote selected from a collection of quotes gathered from Pinterest, is projected in response to a question voiced into a microphone. The platform is built by using 3 Raspberry Pis each running a Processing sketch which reads a file and generates the letters. One of the Raspberry Pis is a server and the other two are clients. The server is connected to a microphone which sends a message to the other two whenever the microphone detects a voice. Each of the Raspberry pi´s is connected to a beamer which projects the sketch onto the wall.  

Crossroad

My first realized mural is located in the Embassy of Ireland, Sofia, Bulgaria. In January 2019 I had just come back from a recent travel to Ireland. I decided to incorporate all the inspiration I've got into a mural. The gentle embassy team fell in love with the idea to renovate their office in a way that represents Ireland, to tranform the walls into pure Irish enegry. I was given complete freedom and a great space to experiment with my visual understanding of the country and the materials that can help me represent it in the best way. I had to unite the 3 pieces of the the puzzle called Ireland:
- water - represented by parts of the silhouettes of the 5 biggest rivers in the country
- stone - using my photographs of historical constructions and places
- green - inspired from the specific bright green grass and the endless fields 
I wanted to use a different material for each of them and imagined a strange combination of 3 different materials that I've never seen being used in a mural before - acrylic paint, relief paste, and tattoo wall. Firstly, I created the rivers, using masking tape to contour the silhouettes, then sowly filled them with the paste, forming relief waves. After they dried, I used a brush with dry paint on the top of the waves to amplify the 3D effect. Secondly, it was time to fill some of the gaps between the entwining rivers, using a tattoo wall of my images. Finally, I sprayed the two corners of the mural - left bottom and right top, to lock the composition and represent the idea that whole mural flows from and to the green. 
The creation was a challange, but also my best experience as an artist precisely because of the opportunity to experiment with materials. The 3 elements found the best visual form due to this technique investigation and created an alive and meaningful space.

When our freedom to connect to others is inhibited, people realize how important human interaction is to our physical and mental wellbeing. The two images work together as one, demonstrating two scenarios a city can face when turned upside down. Standing alone, it will develop into a scene from hell, but when reconnected to itself on a higher level, a beautifully rich, multidimensional scene with depth and emotion can develop

Two States of a City

When was the last time you thought of how many noises your ears picked up without you even registering it? Or how many things your eyes saw today? Or how many times you used your mouth to eat, speak, smile or kiss somebody? And best of all, have you ever thought about the amount of work you give your hands per day? How many objects they have touched or picked up. How many times they were used to express your excitement, your anger, your happiness?

Did you know that "Saccades" are one of the fastest movements produced by the human body?
How often do you visualize a memory? How often are your eyes being stimulated?

"Chrono-Saccades" is the first series of Video-Art productions by Moiré Parallel Project focusing on space, memory and eye-movement behavior. By capturing gestures in an urban environment, the series aims not only to interpretate personal memories but let the viewer recall experiences captivated by his/her own eyes. The series is directed by Eva λ in collaboration with international models, performers, dancers, poets, musicians and video makers.

Moiré Parallel Project engages writers, musicians, videographers, designers, and performers to blend and create an artistic moiré: a vivid series of  cinematic spoken-words music connected to visual projections and light installations.
   It is an ongoing abstract collection of poems/writings spoken in a variety of languages from people who embrace different cultures. Focusing on this diverse background, we aim to give attention not only to the stimulation of the hearing senses, but to point out theatrical elements, gestural expressions, and body interaction.
   Moreover, Moiré Parallel Project revolves around identity, space & time, absence & wholeness, imaginary & real, withdraws & remains; It opens a space for silence, blankness, expression, and it leaves a gap for the viewer's fantasy to grasp a complete thought.

CHRONO-SACCADES

Sometimes we see art as an end in itself, an object to expose or to flatter our egos. So we look for ways to achieve this goal by requiring adequate equipment, by being closed on ourselves or walking on others to shine. If art is an expression of our behavior, we don’t need to worry or not about success in art, but rather in life.

If art becomes a tool, then our creativity allows us to explore other dimensions. If art becomes a way of communication, we seek to be understood and to understand. In that first open call, I’m looking for art videos where creativity is balanced with the technical requirements, where solutions are found in the present moment, where lack of equipment does not spoil the motivation to create.

Concept & Story
In June 1972 Erich Honecker and Fidel Castro met in East Berlin. As a symbol for their strong connection, Honecker handed over a gift to Castro – a ‘Berlin bear’ made of plush. Thereupon Castro pulled out a map of Cuba and pointed on an island in the middle of the Bay of Pigs. The island was named Cayo Ernesto Thaelmann: ‘Ernst-Thälmann-Insel’ – including a monument on the beach. Due to today’s role as a military area it is officially forbidden to enter the island.

Military area? Access forbidden!? We thought, Great! Sounds clearly like an invitation for crossing boarders.

Suggest ogbjets, feelings by limiting forms or points, allows me to go into a trance. After this state of trance, the drawing is created itself and even, everything that surrounds me participates in creation. What appears is like a scan of what I am with the help of my aesthetic spirit that unfortunately adds a personal touch.
