After the initial novelty to the pandemic wore off, Donal is lamenting that we didnt get any zombies or at the very least a few aliens. I was thinking of those scenes from disater movies where our hero (in this case Donal) is staring off into space battered and bruised. 75x100 cm oil on canvas. Challenged myself to start and complete a self portarit in two hours, the cranky look on my face is due to the milk going sour and not a lighter to be found anywhere. Oil on canvas, 60 x 60 cm

Two hour exercise in narcissism 

My ability to create is very much tied in with my identity, I have a particularily aggresive form of arthritis which has taken that ability from me. This self portrait is me in my studio nursing my aching hands. It is painted over two previous paintings, both abject failures, remnants of which are still visible. 75x100 cm, oil on canvas
