Sometimes in life, the pause is what is important. Focus on the space between the notes. The rest. The silence. The in between. 

You can only appreciate what is, when you recognize the space that accents what is present.

Breath Between the Notes

See No Evil is a watercolor painting of three faces, see, hear, speak. I have always been fond of the tale of the three wise monkeys. Three wise monkeys. ... The three monkeys are Mizaru, covering his eyes, who sees no evil; Kikazaru, covering his ears, who hears no evil; and Iwazaru, covering his mouth, who speaks no evil.  This inspired me.  Perhaps my next piece will be the fourth axiom. Sometimes there is a fourth monkey depicted, Shizaru, who symbolizes the principle of "do no evil".

Look at abstract art in the same way that you would listen to a symphony, let the color wash over you. Let your eyes wander over the painting the way the notes of a symphony wash over your soul and emotions. Let your eyes play with the painting, slipping around corners, following the twirls, twists, and turns, dipping in and out of the surface. Let your eyes dance around the piece. This piece is called September Song as it was completed on the last day of September when the fall air was changing to cooler days.
